		<description>Oh I can understand the &quot;hard sell&quot; thing completely - in the various restaurants I worked in when I was a teenager, we always had to push liquor sales on the customer... it was a little bit ridiculous.

But come on... if I tell you I don&#039;t need help, leave me the hell alone. The girl got the right idea, the guy didn&#039;t.</description>

		<description>As a former OfficeMax and Best Buy employee I can pretty safely say that there&#039;s no commission paid to these guys. The problem is that the company wants them to hard sell EVERYTHING in the store, and frequently sends in &quot;secret shoppers&quot; to evaluate things like how quickly they ask a customer if they need help upon seeing them, if they ask every time they pass a customer, and if they try to add items on to every sale. It&#039;s part of the reason I quit working in retail chains and now work in a &quot;mom and pop&quot; store. But take it easy on the employee - they just don&#039;t want to get fired. It actually helps more if you complain to the corporate office about the the practices of floor employees in general.</description>
